Insights: Senior Executive, Global Entertainment & Media Company
“For someone whose personal and professional life is 24/7 and information abounds, it is no wonder at times we become overwhelmed.
Where anxiety reigns, clear thinking disappears and the barriers come up which is no good for anyone. Investing time to develop oneself, results in an inner calm, by being openly receptive to challenges and opportunities that arise will fulfil one’s life.
By being honest with myself I know inwardly whether a thought, situation or an action is having a positive or negative effect, as I am aware of the physical and mental impact on the 5 points of reference. This gives me the ability to make decisions, resulting in clear actions; I’m taking responsibility for myself rather than being done to.
I am learning to cut through the noise (internally and externally), which has held me back and at times. By understanding my particular purpose in my personal and professional lives, I have commenced the journey into doing what is right for me and not what others may say or think I should do, and it feels wonderful. I don’t have all the answers yet however, I am excited and that is thrilling in itself.
How has knowing myself [better] contributed to my personal performance and / or the success of your business? Personally I have now more energy and desire to focus on myself, which ultimately benefits those around me, who I wish to support and care for.
I have actively developed myself more in the last 6 months than I have in the last 6 years and have discovered how much I love to learn and be stimulated outside of the business environment. By collaborating with my colleagues and being open and honest ultimately brings greater results. Living my own values and being true to myself is so much easier, and politics are so time consuming and wasteful.
Working with Laurence Udell
Laurence is the tonic that should be bottled and given to all of mankind, for truly the world would be a better place. For myself, I now find myself on the path that I started some years ago following recovery from illness, time is a healer then makes you forget and you then find oneself swept along on the merry go round again. What Laurence practices goes to the core and becomes a way of life, my switch is back on and I’m energised and excited about what the future will bring, as I seek out what I want to do next on this journey of life.”
